Wed, October 8, 2003 - 10:22 PMmore like how do we make more people aware of how to look nice -

Re: fashioncore
Wed, October 8, 2003 - 10:25 PMor maybe smacking condescending rich pricks in face who try to make a musical and social movement into a vain scene about looking like an asshole. -

Re: fashioncore
Wed, October 8, 2003 - 10:28 PMthat could work or.....we could teach people that just because thye don;t have money doesn't mean they can't dress nice
ex: my outfit right now cost me ummmmmm let me see excluding shoes(which cost 60 because they are skating shoes and they are made nicely) $2.50 the shirt i have i bought at a thrift store and the pants i have were given to me by a female friend
so you don;t have to be rich to dress nice
and is a tough guy scene much better than a vain scene? -

Re: fashioncore
Mon, November 3, 2003 - 9:42 PMFashion-core is the reason I don't dance anymore....I'm in the Lancaster PA scene -x717x- (pretty good for Amish country) and fashion-core is all over up here. Some Baltimore crew came up here Saturday for a Halloween show dressed as Lancaster fashion-core kids. What the heck? Hardcore isn't about being cool. Scene points should come from being vegan or edge, not because you wear girls pants or have certain sneakers.
I go to shows now, and I get so mad at how stupid things have gotten in the scene here.....I told some kid the other night it looked like a freaking ballet recital, all the guys out there looking the same, doing what looked like syncronized two-stepping.....Its been months since I've danced at a show, I can't stand those punks.... -

Re: fashioncore
Tue, December 16, 2003 - 11:41 AMThe last show I went to was for a local group called A Thousand Falling Skies. While enjoying the show from the sidelines I spied a group of kids forming a line (in the pit) putting hands to shoulders and two-stepping. It wasn't three minutes afterwards that I had donkey-kicked and spin-kicked the pit clean of their dirty habits. You see, you don't need drugs to feel high considering I felt god-like after my performance.
The moral of the story : Kick two-steppers. -

Re: fashioncore
Thu, December 18, 2003 - 11:48 PMwhat if i spin kick two step and then spin kicka and/or cartwheel out....does that still make me gay?

Re: fashioncore
Fri, December 19, 2003 - 6:44 PMScene points from being vegan or edge eh? Like seriously who keeps track of these "scene points" anyways? And what makes you think you should get points for being vegan or edge? I am not either of those. Does that mean I don't have enough points to be hardcore? Maybe I should start saving up right?... Like seriously get a life. Being Hardcore isn't about scene points either... its a lifestyle just like fashioncore and stupid emo kids... I personally think that guys that wear girls jeans are completely ridiculous and two stepping has no place at a hardcore show... but hey I can seriously care less about how much of an ass these people are making themselves look like. I think that people who are jumping on the bandwagon with some of these styles just to look like their friends, favourite bands or just to look cool are lame as fuck. Also, I think all of you should just stop bashing things that you're not cause I know for damn sure that there are no "points" for being judgemental assholes like yourselves. Hardcore is music. It shouldn't matter if someone were to show up to a concert dressed like Michael Jackson and doing the funky chicken to the most hardcore mosh breakdowns. Like seriously who gives a fuck. Just enjoy the show for what it is, or should be about (the music) and stop crying about how everyone else looks. -

Re: fashioncore
Sun, December 21, 2003 - 9:19 PMMaybe you misunderstood me....I'm not saying I approve of the whole "scene points" thing, but it does exist. I'm saying I'd rather see people "score" by doing things that are more akin to the intent of hardcore. I remember going to shows in high school, where I'd hear bands sing about things that really mattered. Sometimes I left shows a changed person. I've met some of my best friends down front. But I go to a show now, and mostly what I hear is "buy our stuff" or some sort of emo-infested message (not dissing emo, but its not hxc). Occassionally, I'll hear someone say something like "F- Bush" or "screw the government." Rarely do I hear anyone talk about real issues, like animal rights or anti-drugs or abortion (hell yeah, abortion is a human rights issues). Maybe now that hardcore is gaining popularity, people are trying to water it down.
And the issue of dancing....really, how many people do certain moves, or dress a certain way, because they really want to? For most, its a popularity thing. Listen, I mentor this kid who's just started getting into the hxc scene, and he tells me he struggles with it. Like how is something that is supposed to be all about family, instead seem like its instead a BS highschool popularity contest.
Just do whatever you want, but don't do it because its cool. Who cares what you wear...I don't think people are attacking fashioncore kids based on what they wear. Its the attitude they have that is what's being criticized. -

Re: fashioncore
Fri, January 2, 2004 - 2:32 PMseriously guys, fashioncore isnt the problem in the scene, the huge problem is the tough guys who walk around throwing their signs from their crews. all the violence that goes on at shows. i been to shows were the band has to stop because someone got looked wrong in the pit. now thats absurb, thats why i dont go shows anymore and the scene is dying little by little. its funny because all this hardline xxx promote were all one hxc family but people still divide themselfs into groups who beat on each other. so chew on that! -

Re: fashioncore
Sun, January 4, 2004 - 10:50 PMfucking right. hardcore sucks ass now. it started going downhill when it became "cool" and people join the scene for the wrong reasons. -
-
Re: fashioncore
Mon, January 5, 2004 - 4:19 PMthats true too, but people shouldnt judge someone by what their wearing cause im really into fashion but not the hxc quote on qoute fashioncore fuck the core scene i been i do spend lots of money on nice clothes. i think evryone gets to a point were they grow up and realize that wearing skin tight jeans and a black band shirt and have blake hair styled to the side and the worst of all the gloves with cutt off fingers. i mean looking nice is ok but the new school hxc kids take it to to another limit -

Re: fashioncore
Tue, January 6, 2004 - 8:38 AMThis argument used to be about champion sweatshirts and nikes or vans, instead of docs and army jackets. Than it was about Stussy, then giant pants and then it was about emo cowboyshirts and then...and 10 years before the champion sweatshirt debate days it was about fashion mohawk punks vs first generation hard core kids. Its crazy how the same things keep repeating themselves. Admittedly I haven't been to a show except for some cro mags reunion like 2 years ago in a long time but just looking at this reminds me of everything I saw and heard growing up.

Re: fashioncore
Mon, November 8, 2004 - 9:31 PMya, the scene sucks now, and its for one reason everyone forgot that it is about unity not which crew or scene you belong to.... so the next time you want to round off into a line of two stepers think what hardcore is really about and let them have there flashy fun.

Re: fashioncore
Tue, June 13, 2006 - 7:33 AMi think the whole 'fashioncore' thing is just ridiculous. the whole trend of scene haircuts, several belts outside the beltloops, trendy shirts and jeans- it's all fucking stupid. we all say it shouldnt matter what you wear- but lets be honest, to an extent it does. but it seems like now-a-days alot of kids are just going to shows to show off their ensemble of trendy shit.
and i hear all the time "oh that girl is so hot look at her scene haircut i bet she's really cool" and the girl can be the lamest person in the world. and it's just fucking stupid. i thought this scene was supposed to be about honor and loyalty and brotherhood and being true to your friends, family, and yourself and sticking up for what you believe in. NOT about what you're wearing or how your hair is. you shouldnt even get "scene points" for being vegan or edge or dancing at shows.
i dont think the scene is dying and i dont think hardcore sucks. i dont claim to be hardcore or anything- but i hold alot of the same morals and values that hardcore stands for- but it's not my life. im straight edge, but it's not my life. and i think people are trying too hard to make hardcore/metalcore/whatever your scene is their life when, in reality, they're straying so far from what the scene really stands for.
